Website animations

I decided to create 3 animations for my website by using screen shots from video recording as a reference. Here is 2 of my animations:
Here is some of the images used to create these animations:

Capture experiment

Today we decided to do a capture experiment as a group of three people. We decided to use video as a capture method. The idea is to make environment appear to move really fast while we would be standing still. To do that we will place camera on a tripod and try to stand in front of camera as still as we could and then speed up the footage using Adobe Premiere pro.
This is the result

Evaluation

For capture unit we did a lot of experimentation and work. It involved capture methods such as photography, rubbings, scanning, vector art and and audio recording. From all those capture methods I chose photography as my main one My project of capture was to create a website of my choice and I chose to create sport news website. To create a website I had to use photography and a range of other capture methods. Unfortunately I didn't had  access to take photos of football basketball or tennis players up close so I used photography and video as a reference to my website vector art with which I even created a looping animations. My website also includes a few news reports from other news website and it also has a few photographs of the game.
Overall I think my project was a success because I created a website just as I wanted which is easy to use and instead of a lot of text in interface uses imagery which makes it faster for user to find what he wants without having to read though whole menu.
In my future projects I will definitely going to use photography and video as a reference to my project or as a project itself  also animation and vector shapes. But especially I am going to try to use flash animation more as I really took a liking of it and after I been presented with flash I even created a few short animated movies.
Before starting to make my website I was researching other websites. I found quite a few good ones but what really influenced my work was "Nike" website in which black and white colours were dominant and the website looked really good. So after examining that website I understood that to make website appealing to the eye you don't have to use practiclly all colours of the rainbow it can look just as good and even better while being in black and white.
If I was going to redo my project I would  probably change a few things. I would try to use more imagery and try to create nicer button animations so to do that I would have to try not to get sidetracked with my own personal projects.
All in all I am pleased with my project even though there is still a lot of room for improvement. In this unit I learned quite a few new capture methods that I have never done before which I definitely going to use in future works and found out first hand how research can impact your final work.

photoshop 3d piano

I opened image of piano with photoshop and droped it in 2 layers. Named those two layers blue and red. Then selected layer called blue and modified curves by selecting channel to red and pressing about in the middle of the line and changing output to 0 and input to 225 then I did almost the same to red layer the only difference was that i changed it 2 times.First time I selected channel called green and after that did the same with blue channel then moved a top layer slightly so that two layers would overlap. And the final result was 3d image witch you could see after putting on 3d glasses.]

Photographers

I chose photography as my capture method for this unit and I researched some photographers from different times.
First one I researched was William Fox Talbot. He was a British inventor and a pioneer of photography, born on February 11, 1800 and died on September 17, 1877. He was one of the first photographers who combined his knowledge of optics and chemistry to create the calotype process.

Robert Capa

The British magazine Picture Post ran his photos from Spain accompanied by a portrait of Capa, in profile, with the simple description: "He is a passionate democrat, and he lives to take photographs.
In 1939 Capa emigrated to the United States and in 1942 he was recruited by Collier's Weekly as a photojournalist. He went to Britain and covered the Home Front before moving to North Africa. The following year Capa joined Life Magazine and accompanied Allied troops to Sicily in July 1943.
Capa also recorded dramatic photographs of the D-Day landing. In all, Capa took 108 pictures in the first couple of hours of the invasion of France. Unfortunately, a member of the staff of Life Magazine made a mistake in the darkroom and only eleven were publishable.
Subsequently he reported on the early days of the state of Israel and then the attempt by France to hold onto Vietnam. Robert Capa was killed by a land mine in Vietnam in 1954.
Here are a few of his photos from wars

And here is more modern photographer Carlos Tarrats.

Carlos Tarrats is a still life fine art photographer. His images are not digital manipulations but are constructed on a set and then printed digitally onto Kodak photographic paper. Much of his focus is on the versatility of plant life and serves as his main subject. When he holds his camera, he is considering life, death, hope and conflict. The protagonist is his photos, plants, may end up visually distorted, however he is shooting to give his viewer’s imagination a big dose of hope. “Hope is the possibility for something else, not necessarily something better and yet not necessarily something worse. Whether one is better than the other depends on one’s perception. It’s the uncertainty of the situation that gives the image tension and creates conflict.
Here are a few of his works:

Capture method planing for website

For my website iam going to use internet sources, fonts, tablet drawing, audio, vector drawing.

I am going to use internet sources for a few images which I am going to be using for websites background. Also  I am planing on using video recording as a reference to my vector animation which I am going to create using flash. I am going to take video clip from internet make screen shots of  it and vector it and doing this frame by frame going to create animation which going to be shown in certain parts of website. I also planing on using tablet to draw vector shapes (custom buttons, sport players in the background, vector animation) in flash. And for fonts I going to be using default fonts from flash and for audio sounds for clicks going to use click sound of Microsoft Windows XP.
